Home at last.

Went to bed at two something Tuesday night after studying and cleaning.

Woke up at eight to resume the chicken-with-it's-head-cut-off running around of the night before, and proceeded to take my finals until 3.

Clean clean, pack pack till 4:30 where I was checked out and passed the clean test.

Proceeded to drive 9 hours home.

Home at last, home at last, thank God Almighty, I'm home at last!

.... for about 28 hours until I leave on vacation.

wait, did I not mention that?

Okay so yesterday I was here

Right now I am here.

And on Friday I am leaving for here for a week.

Guess I better brush up on my totally forgotten high school French.

Lost

Okay okay I know everyone and their mom is tweeting about these and probably blogging, but with only minutes before the recap, and mere hourse before the SERIES finale, I would just like to say good bye to Lost.

You have been good to me, and I don't think you will disappoint me now.

Will update after to gush about its awesomeness, because I have no theories or expectations, so it's all up from here baby!

PS. Since I'm such a geek I may or may not listen to the Podcast "The Lost Podcast with Jay and Jack". If you like this show, I recommend listening to them. Gets out all those urges to talk your friends ears off about the show.

UPDATE: okay, I know lots of people loved the ending, but I don't know, it just didn't blow my mind or anything. I think I just wanted one twist or something unexpected. I mean that's why I loved Lost because I never can predict things, and so their twists literally blew my mind.

And I anticpated pretty much everything this episode. I guess it was nice having a good ending, though I'm not even sure I understood it??

Call me a Debbie Downer, but I guess I just appreciate a more bittersweet-meaningful ending like in Gone With the Wind or something, than one that ends perfectly. To me the finale just didn't mesh up with the rest of the show.

Jimmy Kimmel Live afterwards was good though? Does that make me sound more enthusiastic??

Epic News

Since I stalk Josh Groban's twitter, I knew he was planning on being in a movie soon, but had no hints of what it was about or who else would be in it.

Then he linked to this page and my jaw dropped.
okay, 1. It has Ryan Gosling in it.

The man is amazing and is usually in freakin' amazing movies.

2. Steve Carrell

The man is hilarious. LOVE the Office.

3. FREAKIN ANALEIGH TIPTON is in it!!!!

I mean whaa??

So #3 may not mean much to the rest of you, besides maybe if you saw her on America's Next Top Model that one season, but she went to my high school!!! I mean I thought it was cool that she got onto that TV show and stuff, but I mean she will probably get to meet Josh Groban!!! *dies*

Whenever this thing comes out I will def pay ten bucks to see it in theaters.

PS. Just Saw How to Train Your Dragon. LOVE it. Hilarious and heartwarming and still action-y and tense. haha I get quite into movies when I like the characters. aka. toothless

Remind anyone else of this guy?

aka Totoro aka The movie that made my childhood.

did I mention that this weekend I will not be here,

but here?

For this.

Yeah. You could say that I'm pretty excited.

Dear Summer,

I am {more} excited for you to come this year than normal.

I am excited to get some sort of tan on my pasty skin {instead of staying inside and telling myself that my skin will love me in 20 years. I don't need to look sickly for another year}

I am excited to experience summer in a new house {can start moving in on the 22nd!}

Aaaand last but not least, I am excited to get a new swimsuit. Not normally something I look forward to, and to be honest, I am only looking forward to it if I can wear one like this:

Personally, I am very glad that more of a retro look is coming in. And I appreciate that this suit is a little longer on the bottom.

Do you guys have any favorite swimsuit styles or looking forward to anything about summer in particular??

Today's the day!

Well, it's the big day. Six o'clock.

I am SO nervous. When I read it aloud to the Elders I was crying in the first page, which I know is good because it means that I really felt that way and went through something, but when I speak publicly, I like to get through it without unintended pauses due to my cracking voice.

On the other hand, thanks so much for all of your words of encouragement on my talk! It really helped me feel a bit more comfortable with it, and a little less nervous because some people had read it even though I don't know you guys in real life. I wish you could all be there!

I will update with a few pictures and talk about what I was feeling and stuff during the baptism later!

PS. I totally made some rainbow cupcakes for this shin-dig. It's now my go-to for events. I'd urge you to try it if you haven't, it's definitely a conversation piece.

An exciting development

... well at least for me.

Do you remember me talking about meeting the missionaries and how I was struggling with faith in God and Jesus Christ? Reading it over I see that I was confused and just feeling very pressured and eager to make them happy, and basically just wanting myself to be happy by getting baptized even if I wasn't sure about it.  I was wanting to get baptized because of the missionaries wanted me to, but I knew that I needed to want to get baptized for myself.

I actually stopped meeting with them a few weeks after that post. We were running out of lessons, and frankly I wasn't so sure I wanted to keep learning about the Church anymore. But Heavenly Father was certainly looking out for me (gosh, I am totally tearing up right now) and gave me the opportunity to have a wonderful conversation with my Aunt about everything. So I ended up going to Church with her and her family for a month or two after that instead of attending the singles ward. (I felt like it was too much pressure in the social aspect, and I wanted to make sure that I was there for the religion and faith.)

Now I have switched back to the singles ward for a month or so and I couldn't be happier! I had many many times of doubt, where I was positive that I didn't want this faith in my life anymore.... I am just so grateful that I was continually pulled back to the Church and was able to overcome my doubts.

My date for Baptism is January 30, 2010*.

PS. Today I went to a Church bookstore with a friend and picked up a few things. One thing that I got was a picture of a meadow with the mountains behind it and a quote beneath saying:

"The situations and experiences we face in life reflect what Heavenly Father really knows about us and what we need to make our weaknesses become Strengths"

I truly believe this statement with my whole heart and am totally excited that I am finally in the place to become baptized. I have been waiting for this moment for months.

.... and just so all of you know, I couldn't have made it without all of your inspiring words and encouragement. I really don't think you know how much you have influenced my life!

*Tentatively set like an hour ago, but I am pretty positive it won't change! I'll definitely let you all know if it does change!

I may eat my words later but...

ist2_3965048-back-to-school-colorful-child-writing
I kinda really miss school.  *so* ready to go back in a few weeks.

It's not that break isn't fun, or even that I particularly enjoy all of my classes, but I sure do get satisfaction in completing an assignment or getting a good grade on a test I studied really hard for. Maybe I should have gotten a job over the break? After all that holiday shopping I could sure use some extra cash...

I know I will long for the days of sleeping in, and reading and hanging out all day when school finally rolls back around, but I can't help being excited to be back in the desk, pencil in hand. (Guess the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence right?)

Suppose I can't complain though, after spending the day shopping with my sister, gorging ourselves on a japanese buffet, hearing that our offer on the house has been tentatively accepted, and planning on doing manicures and facials, right??

Hope all of you are doing smashingly well, whether you are in school, about to go to school, working, doing both, or doing your own thang!

New York, New York

rockstar diaries
In the normal style, instead of studying for my finals I have been reading The Rockstar Diaries archives (last semester it was being obsessed with all classic Disney movies). All. of. Them.

I know most of you probably follow the amazingness that is Naomi Davis, but being inundated with this sort of awesomeness is starting to make an impression on me. I have now decided that:

1. I need to go visit New York again. (eighth grade was too long ago)

2. At some point in my life a need holgaroid. Preferably sooner rather than later.

3. My future home must have some walls with blackboard paint so we can draw and have fun over and over again. Plus it's super cute.

Make Custom Color Chalkboard Paint

Martha Stewart had a pretty good idea for using the blackboard paint in other ways and custom colors. I love the aqua blue example and the calendar!

Now if you excuse me, I think some Frank Sinatra is calling my name...

PS. Did I mention how nice Naomi is? Who knew Rockstars would be so friendly and sweet?? Wait, on second thought, I'm pretty sure that's apparent from her blog. Love you Naomi!

Dear Future Children,

I hope I raise you right,
with love and understanding.

That we have tons of fun
experiencing life together.

I know I will learn a lot from you,
and I hope you learn a lot from me.

I can't wait to meet you!

PS. I suppose the same things can be said to my future husband. I really really can't wait to meet you!

PS.PS. I hope terribly that I won't have kids like on Supernanny. Anyone else afraid that will happen to them from that show? Hopefully watching it will cancel out any of my inclinations towards raising my kids similarly to those parents.
Supernanny Jo Frost would have kept an unruly child under control or not brought him or her along

Don't judge me Supernanny!

As soon as finals are over

I will most likely be watching this a few times. I just want to live in that movie. It would be pretty awesome. My cousin can come too and play the music (because she totally can, and it makes me extremely jealous)

And trying to tackle this. Yes, remember when I started reading it?  apparently I can't read it much during the school year.

And finishing this anyone else read this because it was on Lost? Just me? Sweet.

PS. Lost starts on February 2nd for its final season! Anyone else extremely excited/sad??

Hope all of you are farther along in your Christmas shopping than I am!
