I'm not exactly proud of this, but the evidence is mounting...
1. A few days ago, I was snacking late at night and I noticed a red, devil-y glow coming from the bottom of the freezer. It seemed odd so I called my dad over to check it, not wanting the house to burn down in the middle of the night because I figured it wasn't anything.
He examined it and seemed concerned too since it was hot, and water was sizzling on it. ( I mean, really heat in a freezer?)
So we spent the next hour cleaning out our overloaded freezer into coolers and examining and tinkering with the freezer. Finally we got out the manual and read:
Sounds that do not require maintenance:
A sizzling noise in the freezer due to the automatic defroster.
Awesome. It was supposed to do that. I felt pretty silly. On the flip side we got rid of some old and unidentifiable frozen food.
2. Today I was trying to do my laundry, and a bit frazzled because it was leaking so as it was filling I was supposed to hold a dishtowel against it to sop up the water. And during the cycle we take the used water and save it to flush (we're very environmental here) later. So that was apparantley too much for my little head to handle.
I tried to turn it on and nada. After fifteen minuted I compiled this information:
Plugged in? Yes.
Water hooked up? Yes.
Conclusion: It's definitely and completely broken.
In reality? I never switched the cycle to being on.
.... I knew that.
